Dr. A.T. Stewart, Senior Pastor

Dr. A.T. Stewart has been in the ministry for over 34 years. He graduated from Belhaven College in Jackson, MS in 1973 with a B.A. in Bible. He continued his education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1975 and his doctorate in Expository Preaching in 2006. His theological beliefs have been shaped by his convictions of the inerrancy of Scripture and the truthfulness of the Doctrines of Grace. Since his graduation from seminary, Dr. Stewart has served churches in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. He has been pastor of Westside for 16 years.

Pastor A.T. is deeply committed to the family. He has been married 36 years to Teri and they have six children and three grandchildren. A major part of his ministry is devoted to helping build strong families on the Word of God. He has led Family Enrichment Conferences in Europe, the Caribbean, and in the southeastern United States.

Pastor A.T. is also deeply committed to Biblical preaching. He is a gifted preacher and teacher of God's Word. God has gifted him with the ability to make the Word of God clear and relevant to the average person. He seeks to explain God's Word in a way that the voice of God is heard, the glory of God is seen, and the will of God is obeyed.

Not only is Dr. Stewart committed to the preaching of the Bible, but he is also committed to shepherding the flock of God at Westside. His heart is to see people grow into Christian maturity. He ministers to individuals showing them what God desires from them as His children. He calls on believers to submit themselves to the authority of the Word of God. He believes as Christians obey the Word of God they will become emotionally and spiritually strengthened.

Rev. Jason Arrowood, Minister of Music and Youth

Rev. Jason Arrowood is early in his ministry career. He graduated from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA with B.B.A. in Management in 2006. He moved immediately to begin his theological education at The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is taking advantage of the North Georgia extension campus in order to stay at his current ministry position. Jason is working on his Master of Divinity with a specialization in Worship Studies. He should be finished with this degree within the next two years. Following the completion of this degree track, Jason plans to continue on to obtain his Doctorate of Ministry.

Jason has had various opportunities to hone his ministry skills in working with youth and leading musical worship. These include serving as the summer intern for both the minister of music and the minister of students at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, GA, as well as helping to lead in the contemporary worship service at FBCPS also. Jason also has served in leadership positions of various college ministries including the worship leader and vice president for the Shorter Christian Association at Shorter College in Rome, GA and leader of the College Praise Team at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, GA.

Jason adores his young family. He has been married to his wife, Kimberly, for three years, and they have a 1 year old daughter named Anna Grace. He believes that the family is his major source of support for his ministry activities, and he is committed to making them a major priority in his life.

Jason has a passion for leading God’s people in worship. The music that he leads the congregation in on Sunday morning is simply an outpouring of the worship that has occurred through the prior week. It is his desire that the people of God come to the understanding that music is simply a part of worship, and true worship should take place in our lives every day. When it comes to youth, Jason has an enthusiasm that is infectious. He longs to teach students that they have a very important place in the Kingdom of God, and they can make a difference.

Jason is absolutely committed to showing others that life as a follower of Christ is both fun and rewarding. While the Christian life is not always easy, the journey is most definitely worth it.
